Be My Valentine - Forever

I had almost forgotten about that picture. Almost – but you never completely forget the day when you realize you’ll get to spend the rest of your life with your true love. We had had a lovely dinner, and he “popped the question” on one knee just before dessert, as the waiter poured champagne, and the other diners cheered.
He had brought a camera (an actual camera in those days!) and asked our waiter to take this shot, capturing all the joy and excitement of that day.
Fast forward to this year. Here we are, definitely older, maybe wiser, still madly in love. When I got his message delivered right on Valentines Day from GabrielsVault, all the memories came rushing back. And when I read his note that accompanied the picture, I knew we had made the right choice all those years ago; and I cried. It read:
"We were so young, but your smile still sets my heart on fire.
Be my valentine – forever."
